North Star Direct Management is a founder-led behavioral health revenue cycle management company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was created after Nico Corradetti saw firsthand how the business side of healthcare could start consuming the time, focus, and energy a provider wanted to give to patients.
The business side of healthcare shouldn’t take providers away from the reason they built their practice.
Nico’s entry into revenue cycle management came from helping his mother as she expanded her therapy practice.
As the practice grew, billing stopped being a background task. Denied claims could sit unresolved. Session notes and coding responsibilities accumulated. Insurance issues demanded attention. And the work didn’t stop at the end of a full day of seeing patients.
Nico watched his mother spend evenings handling the business side of the practice — after she had already spent the day focused on other people.
“What bothered him wasn’t only the money tied up in claims. It was what billing was taking away — time, attention, energy, mental bandwidth, and presence with patients.”
That experience shaped the reason North Star Direct Management exists.
Nico didn’t want behavioral health providers to accept frustrating billing processes simply because someone says, “That’s just how billing works.” NDM was built to challenge that mindset — and to give providers more room to be providers.
Nico grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, with direct exposure to generations of business experience.
That upbringing gave him firsthand exposure to the responsibility that comes with owning a business — the importance of follow-through, the pressure behind payroll and cash flow, the value of relationships and trust, and the reality that business problems affect real people.
The point isn’t a résumé. It’s that Nico grew up around people who understood what it means to build, operate, and take responsibility for a business.
North Star Direct Management was built with the belief that a client’s revenue cycle should be treated with the same seriousness the owner would give their own business.
Treat another business with the same seriousness you would give your own.
If you say something will be handled, it needs to be handled.
Good business is built through trust, communication, and people.
Business problems affect real people.
Behavioral health providers shouldn’t have to choose between caring for patients and chasing claims, reviewing A/R, or spending another evening catching up on billing.
When the revenue cycle is handled well, providers gain back:
That impact reaches beyond the business. Less administrative pressure gives providers more room to focus on the people in front of them.
NDM’s percentage-of-collections model means its success is tied directly to the client’s success.
We only do well when our clients do well.
NDM measures success not only in claims and collections, but by how much time and mental bandwidth can be returned to behavioral health providers — because that time makes better patient care possible.
Behavioral health billing isn’t an extra specialty added onto a general medical billing company. It’s the focus. NDM is built around the realities of behavioral health revenue cycle management.
NDM doesn’t accept outdated or inefficient processes simply because “that’s how billing has always worked.” Processes should be questioned based on whether they actually serve the provider.
If a claim is stuck, a payer is creating an issue, or something in a practice’s billing process needs to change, clients hear about it early and directly — not buried in a monthly report after the damage is done.
When a practice works with North Star Direct Management, they aren’t routed through a support queue, a rotating account representative, layers of junior staff, or a national call center. Clients work directly with Nico.
Questions are handled by someone who understands the account, the practice, and the reason behind the issue. Direct access happens through phone, email, or Zoom during business hours.
The point isn’t that the company will stay small forever. It’s that personal accountability should remain part of how NDM operates as it grows.

Built to Support Practices Nationwide — NDM has the infrastructure to support behavioral health providers outside Pennsylvania as the company grows.
NDM isn’t a national call center pretending to understand local practices. It was built in Pittsburgh and shaped through the city’s small-business and entrepreneurial community — local accountability, real relationships, and a business built around people rather than transaction volume.
North Star Direct Management works with behavioral health providers across Pennsylvania.
